2010 Association Highlights

The GACCA has held its fourth annual “Press of Atlantic City - At The Shore Concierge Challenge.“ We saw a 5% increase in attendance and distributed over $9,000 in prizes to contestants. We also received positive press and signed up new members.

The GACCA was in the media in 2010 numerous times. From ads for the “At The Shore Concierge Challenge,” stories on the “Wine Tasting and Art Show,” stories on the artists who exhibited in the show, stories on the scholarship winners and radio interviews on Pinky, Harry Hurley and Ed Hitzel.

The GACCA teamed up with ACCVA Foundation for the second year and distributed four scholarships for students who are studying hospitality/tourism at Richard Stockton College and Atlantic Cape Community College. The scholarships recipients were awarded their scholarships at the annual Atlantic City Host Awards.

The GACCA hosted a wine tasting art show as a fundraiser for the scholarship program. The event was very successful and as a result we were able to double the number of scholarship awarded from 2 in 2009 to 4 in 2010.

Fourteen membership meetings were held in 2010.

Four print ads, online banner ads and editorial coverage in Press of Atlantic City highlighting the fourth At The Shore-Press of Atlantic City Concierge Challenge. There were highlights in the Casino Connection, AC Weekly and Local Courier’s about the winners.

Editorial pickup in The Press of Atlantic City, local Courier’s, Harry Hurley Show, Pinky’s and other local media regarding the Concierge's Scholarship Program - Wine Tasting/Art Show hosted by the Carisbrooke Inn in Ventnor in 2010.
